Theo Simos is a food & beverage/agribusiness specialist located in the Centre for Global Food and Resources University of Adelaide, South Australia.
Over the last four decades, he has had a broad career with many experiences in the agri-food industry operating in executive management roles in the private sector and with government agencies, food Industry representative groups and universities.
A strong team player, active in the development of new market development programs and implementing projects that deliver better trading outcomes, he enjoys enhancing Australia’s ongoing participation and engagement with its closest neighbours.
Having operated in the Australian domestic market and in Asia, the Middle East & Pacific countries Theo brings a solid record of accomplishment, relationships and partnerships. Developing ideas, opening doors to emerging opportunities with effective market strategies, channel and sales activation and export order fulfillment outcomes.
In more recent times has undertaken “research for economic development” roles improving livelihoods in regional food and agriculture markets. Working with smallholder producers and farmers using value chain diagnostics to identify improvements, new product commercialisation, and a focus on mentoring and coaching postgraduate and early career students.
